let's get to know each other

My name is Jo Sweeney

Hi. I’m Jo and I’m a photographer based at Epsom Downs, Surrey. My style of photography is very relaxed yet editorial. I like to capture my subjects as naturally & creatively as I possibly can whether that is at a wedding, location or in the studio.

I have been a photographer for almost 15 years since having my eldest son. Before that, I worked in the Film Industry as an art director and this certainly had a strong influence on my style of photography. I also studied illustration and still love to paint.

I love to be creative with whatever shoot I’m on and I don’t like things to feel too contrived or staged. Even in my studio work I try to keep it as organic as possible. My aim is to create images that you really connect with whether that is between a couple, a family or a mother and her newborn.

I have been told that I put my clients at ease within minutes which is so important. After having my own headshots taken last year for this site I know how cringey it can be to be the other side of the camera! I promise to make it as relaxed and as fun as it can be for you yet guided & natural.

I really do feel so fortunate to have a career in a job I love and that fits around my family life.

I love the diversity in jobs that I do: Weddings, Newborns, Family Shoots and Events.

I have two sons, a big kid husband and a male french bulldog called Fred so i'm truly out numbered at home. I'm a lover of the simple thing in life :)
